Owen's Mad Skills

I have been trying to get Owen's talking skills on video for a while. He gave me a few minutes of his time for this video. He talks soooo much compared to Sawyer at this age. Granted, he has a devoted teacher in his big brother. :) Next, I will try ABCs, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Itsy Bitsy Spider.

San Diego Bay Parade of Lights

On 12-14, Eddie and I packed up the kids, chairs, some food and a TON of blankets and headed to the bay to see the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights. It is a great little event where private boat owners decorate their boats to the nines in lights, etc. There were many Santas on the boats and some of them rocked out with Chrsitmas carols! The boys loved it...although the fireworks shocked the heck out of them. They both froze solid and stared up at the sky. I laughed my booty off at that! Oh, and Owen downed almost a full container full of guacamole...he loves that stuff!!!

Sawyer's Holiday Party at School

I know it has been a while but...I really need to get on posting pictures from our holiday season.:)

Sawyer had a great party at school on December 19th. The kids did art projects and learned a few cute Christmas songs to perform for the parents. I decided to bring my big camera after regretting not having it at the Thanksgiving party...but, then I forgot to bring my little digital which would have allowed me to capture the songs. Yes, I have kicked myself a few times for that one!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pics! Sawyer was so cute!! He sang every song! Owen also enjoyed the festivities...especially the fact that all of the food was layed out at a kids' table for him to graze at. :)

Shamu obsessed!

Sawyer has always had a love-hate relationship with the Shamu show at Sea World. He gets spooked every time we sit down because the music is so dramatic. He ides behind my back and begs get up and leave the stadium with him. Then, by the end of the show, he is in love with every part of it and counting the seconds until we get to see it again. Then, we inherited the Shamu show DVD from Eddie's grandmother who passed away in October. The boy is obsessed. He has memorized the whole show and will swim across the floor of the living room during the parts when the whale trainers swim. He knows every jump, spin, and facial expression the trainer shows. What is really hilarious is that he has memorized the speech one whale trainer gives about her experience at Sea World. He will stand there and recite the whole thing from beginning to end and then dive into the "pool". My favorite part is when he says "I have learned a lot in my 23 years at Sea World." I haven't been able to catch the full thing on video yet. I'll keep working on it but, for now, this will have to do. :)

A Day at Balboa Park

Well, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I had this brilliant idea..."Let's go to the zoo!!!" I am such a dork because I never thought that about 1 million other people might have the same idea. So, when we arrived and saw nearly every parking space taken, I had to think of something fast! Right next to the zoo is Balboa Park and this cute area with a carousel, little plane ride and a train ride! So, we headed there. It was a lot of fun and nice and cheap (which I appreciate!).
